Hill Street Productions is a creative production company that produces documentaries, short films, photography, video art, and commissions out of Adelaide, South Australia. Our projects have garnered critical acclaim, earning us awards from film festivals around the world, including the prestigious Australian Documentary Prize. We also collaborate with local and international organisations, production companies and individuals, providing them with a variety of production and post-production services in Australia and the US.

  • Madeline Gordon

    Writer/Producer

    Madeline Gordon is a self-taught writer and director working across Australia and the USA. She has worked as a story producer and researcher on programs for Smithsonian Channel, CNN, and PBS. She is currently in post-production on her debut feature THE ARK, supported by Camden International Film Festival’s Points North Fellowship, Doc 10 Chicago, and Mountainfilm’s Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship.

  • Paul Gallasch

    Director/Producer/Editor

    Paul Gallasch is a producer, director, and editor and is the founder of Hill Street Productions. He is a member of the Australian Directors Guild, the Australian Screen Editors guild and a winner of the prestigious Australian Documentary Prize from the Sydney Film Festival. Trained at The New York Film Academy, he specialises in documentary film production and editing and has received support from Screen Australia, the SAFC and MercuryCX.

  • Kieran Hookway

    Photographer/Curator

    Kieran Hookway is an Adelaide born and raised analogue and digital photographic artist. He is primarily a street photographer and is currently working on a long-term project focused on daily street life in Adelaide. In order to understand how this fantasy makes sense in the context of his continual love for her, he performs a funeral service as if her death were real...and films the process of putting it on.
